Thanks to all for your replies to this question. Removed the artwork, still no go. Replaced it with an image that was very small, still no improvement. Not sure what else to do with the metadata. It's an AIFF file, like all of my other 192 files. It's the only one i downloaded from the ChannelClassics site. Same brand recordings (Mahler 9 for example, same orchestra) downloaded from HDTracks play without disruption. Maybe something they do on their site when encoding their files for download that's different?
All files are converted with XLD, and the 192 files are converted to AIFF so the Touch will play them. When they were ALAC the Touch rebuffered all of them. Now only this file is affected. I'll keep looking into this, and again, thank you for all of your info.
