slartibartfast, Yeah, BUT what you said rang a bell. I have an old V-DACII (https://www.musicalfidelity.com/support/discontinued-products/vSeries/v-dacii) that is connected to my Squeezebox 3. So, as an experiment I removed the V-DACII from the SB3, and connected it to my Touch via a coax cable (it also has the option of SPDIF). Then I connected the RCA outs from the V-DACII to the RCAs on my receiver. I fired up the Touch and confirmed that I could toggle back and forth between the Touch's RCAs-to-receiver output and from the Touch's coax-to-V-DACII-to-RCAs-to-receiver output. So, this obviously means that if I'm willing to leave the V-DACII attached to the Touch, I can connect the V-DACII's RCAs out to the RCA input of the Schitt Magni rather than to my receiver. This poses only two somewhat minor problems: 1. I would no longer have use of the V-DACII with my SB3, and 2. It may be that the V-DACII's output is not as good as that from the Touch's own DAC. With some more listening the ears will tell the tale. Many thanks for helping me think things through...
