I updated the plugin list and restarted LMS.
Tried ethernet again but this time did a factory restore on the Touch so that it would not have the wifi connect. Voila: no buffering when playing the Mac's music database on ethernet!!! When I unplug the ethernet and restore the wifi connection, the buffering comes back when playing the music database. Does the Touch have compatibility issues with some modem/routers? Is there a network setting on the Touch that I might have overlooked?
