So, thanks to all the bitching, I've been spending some quality time today completely overhauling the SpamFilter plugin. Akismet is still saying that all sorts of "innocent" submissions are spam (and I still haven't heard back from the folks running it about this problem), but its opinion now has less weight. Setting up your name or email address on the "Settings" screen should overrule Akismet.
