Hi If a user don't specify any e-mail adress they won't/can't recieve any notifications, so that actually will work..
And, it shouldn't be that hard to create filters in your e-mail client so that notifications can be handled in the way a user choses. I'm not sure I see this as a real problem.. but anyway not specifying the e-mail adress should do what you wanted.
