Hi, Please note: I haven't done such a migration yet, these are just my thoughts! Other members of this mailing list may have more experience.
I would upgrade Trac from 0.9 to 0.11 on the Linux machine first, see: http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracUpgrade http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracUpgrade#OlderVersions http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/0.10/TracUpgrade When moving from Linux to Windows I see no specific problems, just follow the instructions on http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracOnWindows and modify the paths in trac.ini There may be issues depending on the plugins you are using. I found only one thread in the mailing list regarding migration: http://groups.google.com/group/trac-users/browse_thread/thread/2defb147f32d5804/ (but that's the other way round) HTH, Simon P.S. @Matt: If you don't want to help with Windows issues, why do you answer at all? :) On 23 Jan., 19:19, kdt <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > As a total trac admin newbie - though a user for a couple of years - I > was asked to look into the issues we could face by migrating our Trac > 0.9.4 installation currently on a Linux server to an "update to most > recent stable version" on a Windows Server (version to be > determined). > > I'd appreciate any links and other suggestions - is it a simple matter > to back up and migrate the database to the new install, or there other > issues involved where we need to copy over configuration files - that > kind of info would be a big help. > > As well, advice on databases would be a help - we currently have 2300 > or so tickets in our system and use the default db - not a > particularly active system, 5 to 10 users at a time on average.
