We really like Trac. It does so much of what we need and really helps us stay a bit more organized and a bit more communicative. Any time we want to do something, I first think, can I do that in Trac? The flexibility is key. You get the idea.
In our group, we are in the process of changing how we manage our tasks. It is complicated as we make hardware and software, and we do so both for internal and external customers. Our company has a meta project management system. It is about risks and all. It is so the company can track how wild the employees are. But the actual management of the details of the project are left to each group. We are free to choose the tools we prefer. We have some experience with the dread (IMHO) MS Project. We work on multiple platforms. I do not have a Windows computer. So, a platform-specific solution is not getting my vote. Also, we want to try to distribute the task of maintaining the information about the project status. Just like Trac does where tickets are open to all to add information and otherwise keep them current. So, my question is: how are people using Trac along with project management systems? What systems work well with Trac? What systems allow distributed access (e.g., are web-based)? We do not require an open source solution. But that has generally been our favorite implementation. -- Roger Oberholtzer -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Trac Users" group.
