I don't agree with what you expect from a browser. I expect my browser to have consistent behavior and allowing me to jump to a "valid" address when typing it in the address bar but not from a link isn't consistent to my thinking. I especially don't expect this type of behavior when I can't find documentation on linking and addressing. Maybe that means I should get off my butt and help with the Firefox documentation.
