You can connect it to the front connector... ground, GPS transmit data and +5V. The mic can be used when the radio isn't in data mode. Some of the "remote" functions on the mic no longer work... but there's a cable inside the radio that can be disconnected that restores some of the functions. Look for postings from me and others on the list from a couple of years ago.
