Well the saga finally came to an end, I took the cover off as I am one of those people who cannot leave things alone, besides muphy's law needs to be followed. Found the BNC connector had a poor center connection. Bypassed the connector and this thing receives as much as the sound card set up on my FT-8800 Wh000peee! Will have the guys with better eyes and steady hands at work fix it next week
