If you are using a T2 and a terminal program, it is...

send <callsign> message...

If you are using any TNC, you could fudge it with by placing the TNC in
converse mode and typing

:<callsign> :message...{01           (or 02, 03, 04 etc.)

and then hitting enter. According to the APRS spec, the colon is the 
data identifier, indicating that it is a message. The callsign is a 
fixed 9 character field padded with spaces, followed by another colon 
and then the message, up to 67 characters. The message identifier if 
used is { and up to 5 alphanumeric characters. Kinda like msg #1, #2, #3 
etc. and messages without a message identifier are not to be 
acknowledged.
