And make sure RETRIES is greater than 0.
If I overlooked that you already checked that setting, sorry, just
breezed thru the thread and noticed that this is similar to what
happened to me trying to send remote commands to a T2. I never got the
ack from it, but the command took. I checked the RETRIES and it was
set to 0. If it isn't > 0, it will never send an ack for anything.
