Please take a look at the screenshot I have placed in my album with this group.
I have the T2-301.

Notes for the photo:

This is what I get when I have the Model T2-301 data radio and Tracker 2
combination attached to the serial port. Note that the T2 software works fine
but has no way to work with the radio configuration. Note that the "Port"
window shows that it is searching for a correct baud and parity - it scrolls to
various settings trying to find a connection. Note the lack of detail to the
use of English in the instruction. Also note that there is no help file or FAQ.

Now as to programming: I can access the Tracker 2 using hyperterminal on a
Windows PC and using the native serial terminal application on my Linux work
station. That serial access gives me the usual embedded commands and settings.

I can access the Tracker 2 with a Windows PC using the otwincfg application and
I can do the same using itwincfg running on a Linux machine with wine. I can
do all th evarious programming needed through those GUI interfaces.

Now as to the GUI for the radio. I took the top off of the T2-301 radio and
checked to see if the LED's were lit. They were not. I unplugged the Tracker
2 daughter board and re-powered without the tracker. The LEDs come on, but the
radio programming GUI still will not connect to the radio.

I replaced the daughter board and reconnected power. The Red LED came on. I
opened the otwincfg GUI and triggered the "test" area; the red LED doubled in
brightness and I read 4.8 watts from the radio into a dummy load. I toggled it
off and the red LED went back to low bright. The diagnostic routine allows the
other LED's (green, etc) to be toggled as a test. They did not toggle on and
were never lighted.

I tried both a v.1.0 and a ver 1.1 of the radio programming application. The v
1.0 should have been called an alpha version and had serious GUI issues. The v
1.1 seemed to be all there and spaced correctly. I could type in settings,
although neither the delete or the BS keys worked, only cursor placement and
mouse-over left key selection for erase or change of input.

My conclusions:

The radio is working;

The Tracker 2 is working and can be accessed with the otwincfg application AND
with a serial terminal application. Settings which were successful were 4800
baud, 8N1.

The radio programming software is possibly flawed; aside from the fractured
English, it is not talking to the radio or vice-versa.

The serial cable set up is correct since it works with all other operations.
just not with the radio programming software.

There is NO way to set the radio parameters using the T2 software as downloaded
from Argent. At least if there is an application which will do that, I haven't
found it yet on the Argent site.

I appreciate any advice offered and will continue to try to work this problem
out. I am anxious to get the radio programmed and driving a 5 watt in - 30
watt out home brew linear and get on with the rest of the WCARES emergency APRS
Portable Digipeter.
