OK..I guess I answered my own question.

Just found the pinout info on pg 6 of the manual showing the power-in pin on 
the radio connector.  Should have guessed it would have been there since all 
the rest seems so well thought out.

Looking forward to running this with on-line linked mapping for a 15,000 mile 
summer road tour.
