I have a Kenwood radio and currently use a single cable to connect the radio to 
the T2. The mike jack provides power (about 7.8 v) making for clean cabling. 
The downside to this arrangement, as I found out recently, is that the voltage 
from the mike jack is regulated so the tracker always sees the same voltage 
even as the 12v to the radio is dying. Consequently you don't get any 
indication of the battery level from the tracker's telemetry.

So, with that in mind, when I get to installing this somewhere, I think I'll 
take the tracker power from the 12v source used by everything else even if it 
means an extra cable.
