Under the 2005 APRS Paradigm change you should not support WIDE3 paths unless absolutely necessary (region dependent) . Thus, the following settings should be employed to conform to the 2005 APRS Paradigm scheme:
ALIAS 1 WIDE HOPLIMIT 1 2 DIGIID 1 ON USEALIAS 1 ON The above settings support WIDEN-n paths. I have played with cmd hoplimit till I am blue in the face & it appears that the numbers have no correlation to WIDE as we know it. It appears to take WIDE with no numbers as being 1 hop, so HOPLIMIT 1:1 means it will digi on wide alone,BUT if we leave that as 1:0, no hops, & go to 2:1 it still ignores WIDE1-1 & decrements WIDE2-1 to zero, bloody confusing AY. The best I have at present is HOPLIMIT 2:2 with all the others set to :zero. I plan to reload firmware next time I am at digi site to see if that helps.
