Here is an idea for a ribbon cable strain relief for you. (Maybe someone else 
has a better idea)

Roll the ribbon cable around a non-conductive form 1/2 inch in length, such as 
a small plastic tube or a piece of small diameter nylon rope, etc...  

Put a dab of silicone caulk or hot glue in there to hold it together like a 
jelly roll.

Place an electrical tie-wrap around the roll.

The tie wrap should prevent the cable from passing through the grommet/case and 
pulling the connector off the header pins.

Maybe the form is overkill -- but just mashing the ribbon in a tie wrap seems 
like a recipe for a broken conductor.
