The cable is about 5-6 feet I think. You can go longer but I don't know how much. I have thought about adding a driver, 74LS244, to the cable if I make a longer cable.
I put mine together just to see it work. I didn't think I would care too much but I find it adds more enjoyment! Now I need to get it packaged myself. I would like a shorter LCD. I wouldn't mind wider.
