Hi Bob, If you use the configuration software, you need to use PORTA for it. At least that is my understanding. That is why I personally keep PortA for the PC connection when needed. I do use a terminal program to make changes must of the time. The GPS can be connected to either port. My GPS is wired for a regular PC connection of pins 2 and 3 for data. I can connect it directly to a COM port if necessary. I have an adapter for connecting it the pins 7 and 8 on the OT2. Scott's two serial cable does what I basically did. Best regards, Fred
