- Commerce Broker from Mercator - PaperFree from Sybase - EBI Suite from SeeBeyond This is just a shortlist and there are several other vendors that provide comparable products/services. One other alterenative that you may want to research is the use of a clearinghouse for interim compliance. Depending on your volume it may not make sense to invest in software, although the power of these products offer a long-term strategy and approach that may provide future savings in terms of maintenance. Additionally, there have been several white papers written concerning this topic and the pros and cons for each alternative. I believe you can find most of them on the CMS HIPAA website. Therefore, we are trying to look at translation software and I'm having a devil of a time finding much on the web which are appropriate for a small organization. Basically, I'm looking for a package which will read in a 1500/UB-92 file and a produce an 837 file as output. I think this is the most critical since this is the revenue producing file.
