Bob,
There's an excellent document on selecting an EDI translator available on the web site of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. It covers all the dimensions to address. Take a look at http://www.itl.nist.gov/div896/ipsg/eval_guide/evaluation_guid.html This will give you a basis to evaluate specific vendor's products. I hope this is the appropriate forum for this question. If not, please point me in the right direction. I am working with several small Mental Health providers. While each is preparing to make their data systems compliant with the new transaction standards, it is likely that most won't be ready to produce/accept the new transactions by next year. Therefore, we are trying to look at translation software and I'm having a devil of a time finding much on the web which are appropriate for a small organization. Basically, I'm looking for a package which will read in a 1500/UB-92 file and a produce an 837 file as output. I think this is the most critical since this is the revenue producing file. We'll deal on the other transaction sets on a case-by-case basis. Does anyone have any ideas about where to look for this software (if it even exists?) Thanks, loads. Bob Robert E.
