This is very interesting, and scary from the provider side. Although the payers may have to support this, vendors do not, and I don't believe (my personal opinion only) that it is their top concern right now. If this is true, it is another example of the "disconnect" I find between what my payers see as important, and what my vendors are supplying.
Also, many of the paper claims (not just secondary) that we send are due to a payers request for an attachment. Many of these attachments (i.e. Medicaid Sterilization forms) do not reside within out vendor solution, they are external. How will paper claims ever end if attachments are still required?
