Then maybe using something like:

 -x mplayer="dvd://1 -chapter 1-1"

Will work. Alternately, I can almost guarantee that
avidemux will work... I made a dvd recently that seemed
to stump everything EXCEPT commercial dvd players and
avidemux. This really puzzles me, btw.
