Hello, Not a permission issue. When I am trying to use the MPEG container, dvd::rip is able to create the "DVD_rip_movie-003" just fine, but from the error message, transcode is looking for a file named "DVD_rip_movie-003.m2v" which doesn't exist in that directory, or any other directory. Also, I am able to create a AVI container file just fine, which is stored in the same directory. It looks like for some reason, when I am trying to use an MPEG container, transcode is not actually generating the file with a .m2v extension that is needed.
Mike Urig has suggested trying Handbrake. I have run into a bug with Handbrake, but Mike was able to point to a Ubuntu forum question that looks just like the issue I am running into with Handbrake, so I am going to try to get Handbrake running as well. New to Handbrake, so will need to do some experiments. I was using ORMRip before using dvd::rip, but found OGMRip had some issues with extracting videos from some of my more recent DVDs, where dvd::rip worked fine. There are also some other features in dvd::rip that I like, but would like to get MPEG container running. Will see if Handbrake can help me out. Thanks.
