Hi Friedel. Thanks for your comments on my translation. I must admit that this was my first experience translating (free/open source) software, so there were bound to be a few mistakes. Now, on to your comments:
I don't like to seem to know better either, but in this case, some things really HAD to be changed. About http://pootle.wordforge.org/nl/pootle/pootle.po?translate=1&item=123, you are right: "hulp" is better than "help". The thing is that I did most of the translating in Sun's XLIFF Translation Editor, so I didn't see the "related" items (and I must admit that I didn't pay much attention to them while accepting the translations). Was I supposed to submit the translated file and then wait for someone else to accept/reject my translations, by the way? http://pootle.wordforge.org/nl/pootle/pootle.po?translate=1&item=284 I don't know what happened to the square brackets. They shouldn't have been removed and I sure didn't remove them intentionally. Something must have gone wrong somewhere, though. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't run all the checks on my translations, though. I'll try and keep that in mind for the future. Guess I wass so excited about my own accomplishment that I couldn't wait to let you all know. :-S You are absolutely right about "vrije software" being better than "gratis software". My mistake (again). I think it is customary to use a comma before "enzovoorts" in Dutch, but so it is in English. I'll put it in anyway. >There are some terminology choices that surprise me... Please let me know what those are. I'm very curious. If even a non-native speaker thinks so, I must be one lousy translator! Oh, one more thing. I didn't translate the terms 'goals' and 'tracks', because I'm not sure what is meant by them. Like I said, I'm new to all this software localisation and open source and sourceforge, so I'm not familiar with those terms yet (poor excuse for a translator, but hey...) I would appreciate it if someone could explain to me what they mean, or tell me where I can find an explanation.
