Once again, thank you for your contributions! On Ma, 2006-12-25 at 03:37 +0100, Nicolas François wrote: > Hello, > > I tried Christian's python-lucene package. > > It seems the lucene API changed from 1.9.1 and 2.0.0.
Ok, I assume we should be working in that direction, right? > > Some interfaces were tagged as deprecated in 1.9.1 and were removed in > 2.0.0. > > The attached patchs permits to use the jToolkit with lucene 2.0.0. > I also think it should work with 1.9.1 (not tested). This is quite a big change so all testing will help. I'm not too concerned about lupy, since it has been retired and they recommend using PyLucene anyway. > > With this patch applied, I found some files in /tmp (lock files for > lucene). > It would be nice (for security reasons and to avoid cluttering /tmp) to put > these lock files in the corresponding index directory. > A second patch is attached. > > I've still not checked whether Pootle is faster or not. > > Kind Regards, Either way, we'll have to see how we deal with patches to jToolkit. I have not forgotten about your other contributions, so by now there are a few things that will need to get attention. Perhaps we should import jToolkit into our SVN tree or something like that. I'll try to get some direction on this quite soon. For those that got this far, here is another issue: PyLucene has support for language specific indexing, as I recall. It would be great if we could implement that. I haven't looked at it, so I don't know if this would have to be a change in Pootle or in jToolkit. Either way, it should be a nice side project for someone and a big advancement for searching in some languages :-) F ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
