Yes. The Debian package should use a jar generated from source (or
provided by another binary package). I would like to see if the package
will be usable and useful before looking a that point.

Can you describe the method for rebuilding the index (manually and
automatically from web).

Also, did you try 2.0.0-3 or 2.1.0-1?
