Hi,
What do you think about the behavior of the new fuzzy checkbox ? See
transcript below from the IRC channel.
Thank you,
JY
<_JY_> hello
<hruske> hello
<_JY_> i have 2 feedbacks for rc1, is it the place?
<_JY_> (from users of pootle i'm setting up pootle for)
<hruske> it would be good if friedel could hear you now
<_JY_> the first one is, upgrading pootle resets the pref file :->
<_JY_> (got tmy users.pref and pootle.pref reset )
<hruske> how are you installing?
<hruske> tarball, debian package?
<_JY_> i could not not build the rpm since i get the rpm -da error ,
so i finally downloaded the tar,
<_JY_> and ./pootlesetup.py install
<hruske> ah.
<hruske> install procedure isn't that smart, i guess
<_JY_> it seems to just copy files
<_JY_> inclusing default pref ones
<_JY_> the other thing is about the new "fuzzy" checkbox
<_JY_> before 1.0, there were no checkbox
<_JY_> so when a translator would do a translation of a fuzzy string
(part of the new untranslated stuff to do),
<_JY_> and would validate,
<_JY_> the counter of fuzzy strings wouls decrease
<_JY_> now for that to happen, you have to uncheck the fuszzy button
before validating
<_JY_> other wire the strings stays fuzzy
<_JY_> and you cannot know if it has been reviewed/translated or not
a few days later
<hruske> hmm
<hruske> i'm not familiar with this new button
<_JY_> new checkbox under the textarea to show the fuzzy status of a
string
<hruske> yes, I understand what the problem is
<_JY_> maybe that is on purpose?
<_JY_> translator should really uncheck explicitely to mark that he
thinks the translation is ok?
<_JY_> maybe hitting Submit could remove fuzzy as an option ?
<_JY_> not sure actually
<_JY_> if i submit a translation,it means there is no reason for the
string to still marked as fuzzy .. or does it ? :-)
<hruske> I don't know that either
<hruske> You would need to ask friedel.
<_JY_> do you have his email address?
<_JY_> or does he read transcripts of this channel ?
<hruske> It would probably be best if you could send an email to
translate-pootle mail list
<_JY_> ok
