The following information is per our most recent experience in these
countries.

Telephone: +60 3 255-6687
Fax : +60 3 253-0508

Approval Authority Singapore ( I think they have moved, not sure)
Telecommunication Authority of Singapore (TAS)

Fax : +65 323 1482

EMC compliance for terminal equipment not required until 1997. Compliance
with UL (IEC 950) is recommended but not necessarily required. We make
sure our products comply with CISPR22 and IEC 950 (UL approval) prior to
shipping product to Singapore and Malaysia.

The PSTN Telecom requirements for Singapore are spelled out in the
"Specification Checklist for COAM Equipment for Connection to the PSTN &
Leased Circuits". Applicants must have a dealer license which is issued by
TAS or be an authorized agent of the manufacturer.

The PSTN Telecom requirements for Malaysia are spelled out in the
"Specification Checklist for Customer's Premises Equipment for Connection
to the PSTN ". Applicants must be incorporated and registered in Malaysia
to apply for type approval.

I do not have contacts for either Singapore nor Malaysia. However, KTL in
the UK (Certelecom in US) is a good contact for at least Singapore
approval. Contact Debbie Balfour at KTL (+44 148 280 1801)

Hello TREG'ers

Has anyone had experience in obtaining modem approvals for Malaysia and
Singapore.

I would appreciate any information on emissions, immunity, safety, and
PSTN Telecom requirements. Any references, contacts and document sources
that would give me some insights into the requirements would also be very
helpful.

Regards,

Duane Marcroft
