Remember that today, the RBOC's, GTE, and the independent providers loosely call all the standards in FR-2063-CORE "NEBS". They put special emphasis on GR-1089-CORE, and GR-63-CORE, and specifically call these two standards lumped together "NEBS". In reality, only GR-63-CORE is named NEBS, but don't get caught in the trap of not knowing what you need to do. Bellcore has held 2 seminars on this in the past year and I assume they will hold more in the future. It is a great place to meet the RBOC customers and get clarification on the standards.

The burning of individual parts can be done at your = facility or sent out to a local lab willing to do this tedious testing. = 847-272-8800; www.ul.com. Testing can also be performed at your own facility, if approved by your = customer (a Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC)). It's best to review = GR-63-CORE to determine what testing your facility can do.
