Hallo, Treg.
Call blacklisting (barring) is an approval requirement on
European modems, but not (I believe) on US modems. Try dialling
999 (UK emergency number) or 112 (alternative UK and European
emergency number) to see if they are barred on a European
compATible setup. (Off-line, and with the modem set to immediate
dial, of course.)
