David, Why don't you put together a proposal for BABT of an alternate way of testing. BABT is quite willing to listen to alternatives and will normally give you a blessing if you make a sound technical proposal. Some ideas you may want to consider; . Propose that the test can be treated as a level 2 test (if you have a history of data that supports this). Even better than trying to control batches and sampling plans set-up and SPC control chart and test a sample at prescribed intervals during the day. If you already have a K1403 you could plot variables data with and Xbar R chart. . You could consider attenuating the received signal that is being transmitted by a reference device and measure BERT. We use a scheme like this on an E1 product. . We have been successful using a loop back plug (with -10dB attenuation) on one of our ISDN products and have the power up diagnostics in the unit run the test.
