We are currently pursuing an ISDN approval in South Africa also and I
have received similar information. My information comes from a
distributor which implies that a bit of caution must be applied. We
have been asked for a copy of our NET 3 test report and our BABT
approval certificate. I was told that they will 'spot check' the
product against the test report. We shall see.

I received the following from a reseller in South Africa. Does
anyone have more information on this? Keep in mind this comes
from is a reseller (sales type):

     --------------
TELKOM South Africa has changed their approach to ISDN
certification (for the better), previously they used to test all
ISDN layers locally which took ages and pages of information.

     New procedure:

     - If the product has been certified for Euro NET3, we need to
submit a copy of the test report, TELKOM will check this report
and conduct a functionality and safty test thereafter (no more
     layer testing).

     - If the product has not been NET 3 certified, we need to do the
complete procedure which could take a couple of month.
