When talking about "value-added" operations or processes, one needs to look back at the manufacturing process from the view point of the customer. Value-added is determined by the customer.
So does the customer view CE marking, or any other compliance testing as value added? I believe they do. The process of making a product comply with safety, EMI, etc. regulations is as important as making sure the product meets all other customer specs. Thanks for your time.
