Hi all, I am trying to determine if the EU ISDN standards for basic rate access include any "Fail-Safe Operation" requirements and if so, are they in any way similar to those required by the Australian ISDN standard TS031.
TS031, clause 5.1.3 on Fail-Safe Operations and in particular clause 5.1.3.1, states: CE shall not cause harm or damage to a PTN if any of the following events, or a consequential event, occurs: a) failure or partial failure of any single mechanical or electrical component in the CE; or b) failure or partial failure of any power supply (including a.c. mains voltage and local battery) to the CE; or c) incorrect manual operation of the CE; or d) operation of the CE outside the range of operating voltage and environmental conditions specified by the manufacturer. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thank you. ** Please also Note: My phone and fax number have changed slightly - ie the area code is now "02" instead of "043" and the "43" has been added to the number. See new numbers below.
