Just thought I'd try, but I've been looking around for a T1 standard (and hopefully an E1 standard) that specifies an acceptable BER Bit Error Rate. I've heard 10^-6 cited by a couple of people, but when asked where that number resides, they can't find it.
I have T1.403, but it doesn't overtly state it. I've also heard G.821, but I don't have a copy of that one. I also thought Bellcore wants something like 10^-9. I believe that may be somewhere in 499. Anyone know of a public national standard (not Bellcore) for T1 and E1 that states an acceptable BER? Regards, Doug
