Does EN60950 Annex ZC require product safety warnings in German? The note at the top of the annex points to a court decision which suggests to me that this requirement may not be mandatory. Is it mandatory for products we sell in Germany?
If it is necessary for us to provide safety related warnings on the product in German to be in compliance with the LVD; can we approach this requirement as follows: We would like to supply an adhesive safety warning label which is a German translation of the English warning. The English warning is screened on the back of the product. We will place the label in the product's accessory package and add instructions in the users manual to apply the label over the English text if the installation is in Germany or the service personnel prefer German. There is not enough free space on the back of the product to provide the warning in both German and English.
