Hello Ron and group,

I'm speaking for the Netherlands.

According to the T10/T11 national requirements for analog equipment return loss
numbers are measured as a function of 600 Ohm resistive only. (some countries
add capacitance to the reference ) The requirements for the netherlands are -14
dB from 300-3400 Hz. Although not such a topic anymore, make sure it complies
during dialing too!

Regards,

Tregger's,

I'm new to the world of modems and have inherited engineering
responsibility for a device that includes a 14.4/28.8 modem interface
(at the subscriber end of the loop). I know the objective requirements
for return loss numbers in the UK and Australia, what I'm wondering is
are there any "industry standard" subjective numbers for the UK and Aust
and North America? Anything that can be shared on this subject would be
greatly appreciated.
