Just for my two cents,

I had to generate several translations of
warning labels and general info type labels
at a former company. I decided to attempt
hitting more than 95% of our market with
several languages for each label so that we
could confident that we had protected most
of the end users possible. I ended up with
English, French, Spanish, German, Arabic, ...

I then decided to have marketing give me the
list of distributers where the product was to
be sold for each language so they would do the
translation. I had heard of some famous goofups
with some big companies trying to translate into
native tongue. Nothing like the actual native
speaker of the country helping you out. And it
cost nothing to have done. In fact, several of
the distributers were very pleased to have been
asked for input in the development of the product.

Regards, Doug
