Hello Cynthia

I had a conversation with Jan Sedlacek (director of the certification
department at CTU) about this in May of last year.

At that time his view was that it would eventually happen but it would be
about five years or so before it did. He explained that the reason for the
delay
was due to the fact that the PSTN in the Czech Republic is made up of a
wide variety of equipment, some of which is very old. A modernization
scheme is in progress at present and when this is complete, CTU will
consider the use of CTR21.

In a recent presentation of approvals in the Czech Republic however, Jan
stated that the Czech Republic are aiming to adopt the R&TTE Directive at
the same time it comes into force in the EU which would tend to contradict
his earlier statements.

Either way CTR21 is not going to be much use in the Czech Republic in the
short term.

Hope this helps.

Regards
