I'll have to look into it...I didn't realize there were that many changes.

and to confirm the Microsoft Direct Push works with the 680???

BUT....the thought of 3G is still enticing...

Thanks,

Jim

IMO, the 680 is worth it. In December, I paid full price (to Palm) for
an unlocked 680 to replace my Cingular 650 that was still working
perfectly fine.

Most of the individual enhancements are small, but together they are
more than the sum of their parts.

BlueTooth 1.2 is better than 1.1 for clarity and multitasking - the 650
could use a headset OR a GPS at one time, the 680 can (I'm told) do
both at the same time.

70+MB of user-accessible storage is almost three times the available
storage than the ~24M on the 650.

The 680 has as much dbcache as the 650 has storage!

Don't let the lack of an external antenna fool you, the 680 has a much
better cellular radio than the 650, I get better reception with this
than I did with the 650.

And it's got better voice quality, too.

The keypad's shape, both the layout and the individual buttons, make it
easier to use.

The screen is brighter, with better color saturation and overall
contrast.

The all-in-one phone/contacts app is easier to use.

The over-all shape fits better in the hand.

The only thing I miss is the reset button, for the odd misbehaving
application.

The much-ballyhooed battery drain issue is mostly a battery calibration
issue, and two easily fixed real problems, one with a patch from Palm
and one by turning off a feature.
