In other words, after a year with the 700P, there is still no reason to upgrade, right? The only differences seem to be a few apps (most of which you can get the same or better via third parties), and a slightly smaller form factor. Oh, and mini-SD, which to me is worse. Also worse is the battery life. So in essence all in all it is a downgrade.
Luckily I hadn't been keeping track of all this stuff much and so wasn't anticipating much. Like Don, I have my eyes on a more revolutionary jump to a new platform (Palmix or whatever they call it). The 700P, as I've said before, does almost everything I want/need right now. Sure, the browser could be better, and multithreading would be nice, as would built-in A2DP, but these are icing at this point. Looking at an iPhone in person may cause me to start viewing my phone as clunky and old-fashioned (at least in look and feel), but at this stage of life, that's ok with me :-P. Maybe this will at least drive prices down on earlier phones like the 650, and even 700P so that I can perhaps afford to get one for my wife at some point... -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Alli Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2007 6:03 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Treo] Re: 755p The voice control app - VoiceControl by Nuance, is nice. Really nice. But it also costs $72/year, so I fail to see the point in including the TRIAL version in ROM. The Sprint IM...sucks. It's cute. I never could connect to either MSN (Windows Live Messenger) or AIM on it, and although I could connect to Yahoo, half the messages didn't get through to me. Oh...and it *still* doesn't work in the background. Looked like Blazer to me. This is only a step up for someone with a cell phone and no accessories. Who wants to replace a 4 or 8GB sd card with a 2GB MINI?! You've got to be kidding!
