Scott, I'm sorry, but I just don't get your sentiment. Do you have major
problems with the Palm device you have now? If so, and there are better
options out there, go get them! That's what consumerism is supposed to be
about, right? But I for one am mostly satisfied with my 700P. Sure there are
some minor things I'd like to see improved, but these aren't critical by any
means. Likewise I don't know of any other device which would have all these
little minor things solved and also not have other downsides which my 700P
DOESN'T have. But that's me. You might have a GSM 650 which doesn't have
adequate memory, doesn't have the data speed of EV-DO, etc. I mean on the one
hand I understand your frustration visa vis Palm not getting a new version of
their OS out for 3-4 years. That's just ridiculous. But that doesn't mean I'm
making ultimatums. If and when there is something demonstrably better out
there which I think is so compelling that I NEED to replace what is currently
quite satisfactory, then I will do it. But drawing lines in the sand is a
little silly. Anyway, Palm is supposed to be coming out with a new phone with
a new OS by the end of the year. Let's just hope and pray they don't do
something stupid and only let one carrier have access to that for 6-9 months.
Those kind of exclusivity deals anger me much more than any lagging of
innovative new phone design...

"The next couple of years"???? I have no intention of waiting that long.
Palm needs to put out a winning product before year end, or I for one, after
using palms for 10+ years will have to seriously consider abandoning what
appears to be a sinking ship.
