I went away for a conference this weekend. I handled some of my email
on my Treo680. I sort of longed for being able to use the laptop, but
a) it was expensive at $10 for 24 hours considering that b) I'd maybe
get to use it an hour or so out of the 24.
I've heard PDA Net mentioned, on this list even, I think, but I'm
unclear about
= how well it works and
    = how it works.
In pursuit of an answer to the latter question -- does it connect
through my existing Cingular MediaNet account, or does it work as a
dial-up (the ability exists to dial into my company's system) -- or
maybe both?
I went to the PdaNet site and part of the confusion is the last
line of the installation instruction: "The dial up process will be
started automatically and connect your PC to the Internet, no extra
setup or configuration is needed!"
Does it really instantly connect to some service I'm not yet buying?
I'm not really anxious to signup with yet another ISP, but if this
will allow me to dial into my company or surf to my ISP's (Comcast)
mail handler, it could be pretty useful.
