Roger, forget future UMTS/HSDPA dreams for a moment and focus on present reality. Comparing AT+T/EDGE to Sprint/EVDO +today+ means looking at a huge SPEED difference.
Whether you focus on phones or plans is semantic, b/c we all use Treos here and the carriers' plan (i.e. wireless protocol) isn't negotiable. Main point, stated earlier -- when comparing EDGE/EVDO, look past the dollars to see the dialup/DSL performance diff. ~d -----Original Message----- From: "Roger B.A. Klorese" Bill Motzing wrote: > EDGE has a data transfer rate of 0.236 mb/s, CDMA 1xEVDO is 2.4 mb/s. > > 'The plans are equal -- the phones are not.
