Resco Locker "locks" applications into the dbcache. With the right items so locked, stability is increased. The dbcache is sorta-kinda-almost like your computer's RAM. It's where the newer Palm devices are actually run from, being copied from the storage space. The problem is it can get full and needs to be purged periodically. The Palm does this automatically when needed, but it's indiscriminate about what it purges from the dbcache and will, unless prevented, purge things that need to stay there. If the system expects to find something in the dbcache and it isn't there, it will be slower to run, or it may crash. So to prevent that, some things need to be locked. Most items that receive "notifications" from the system need to be locked. Some of them lock themselves, some need to be locked with Resco Locker. -- Jeffrey Kaplan www.gordol.org The from userid is killfiled Send personal mail to gordol "If I am ever the Hero top 100 list: #49.
