Welcome to this friendly list. I've learned tons from reading it. My first
suggestion is to get a copy of DbFixIt here:

http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/dbfixit.htm

I agree with Alli. You need to make sure that your Calendar and other
databases are okay. You can run it without paying for it, and it will still
tell you if you have any problems. Just tap the EasyFix button and watch. If
it *does* report problems when running its EasyFix option, then you'll need
to buy the program to get it to fix the relevant databases.

I'd also try loading ResetDoctor, found here:

http://www.hobbyistsoftware.com/reset-doctor-more.php

Turn on its Cache Management to let it flush the DbCache In its Cache
Management settings, click the box for "Clear Cache if Less Than," accepting
the default value you see there (the default value is determined by the
device it sees when you install it). Make sure you read the documentation for
this program so you understand what it's doing, especially if you choose to
enable its Cache Management.
