I am pretty happy with my 680, but I have to second a couple of the problems. I, too, have more resets than I would like. Not more than my 650, but I thought the added memory of the 680 would correct that. It didn't. Bluetooth sometimes turns itself off when the phone resets. Not always, but often enough I've gained the habit of checking for a gray BT symbol after a reset. I can't compare the browser thing because I rarely use it, and it has worked the few places I've gone. I sometimes use Mundu IM, and it has worked well, as well. But while the added memory has not given the results I had hoped for, the better radios have been the offsetting factor that has me keeping my 680. My 650 is available for sale, but if not, it will be a backup for my 680. In the end, that summarizes my unhappiness with Palm as a hardware company. If it does not intend to improve the PalmOS, I wish it would stop pretending it is coming out with improvements when for the most part all it has changed is the packaging. Antenna/no antenna. Crimson-Arctic-Copper. Those are meaningless choices, except that if your Treo is red, we know from across the restaurant it's a 680 and it's from Cingular, er, AT&T. The real choices are PalmOS, WinMob, or Blackberry. Unfortunately, in the world of improving technology and enhancing interoperability, Palm appears not to be rising to the challenge. But I also suspect there may be an underlying message from Palm in its decision to support the Microsoft standard. I believe, and, I submit, history is bearing out, that Palm has made a decision to hang onto loyal PalmOS users as long as it can, as cheaply as it can, while actually moving away from the aging brand.
All of that said - does anyone know how I can get hold of a crimson or copper case for my silver 680, and how difficult it would be to swap?
