I wasn't joking.  Given comparable usage my 680 lasts a lot longer than the
700p .  I am in the Tampa area, where VZW has good coverage so searching for
a cell tower shouldn't have been a problem.  So far the 680 definitely seems
better.  Even with fairly extensive usage of the camera on a recent trip to
Europe it did fine.
