I'd like to see a little more about this. Specifically, I have
reconstructed my 680 3-4 times, and still am plagued with excessive
delays and lockups. One thing that has been niggling at me for a bit is
use of RLock:
If RLock locks an application in memory, in which order do I install
stuff so it will work best. My mental problem is that if, for instance,
I install and run TakePhone, then run RLock, doesn't the latter cause
some part of the former to be replaced before the lock is installed?
And how does that relate to then wanting to lock Butler and Datebook6
and Jot, etc.
Is there a best way (I'm sure there is; I just haven't figured it out
yet) to install the core applications, which for me are:
zLauncher
TakePhone
Datebook6
Jot
Butler
I have several other programs I use often, but they can load and unload
as needed -- e.g. pEditPro Pocket Quicken, Messaging, eReaderPro, and
BeJeweled -- rather than be expected to monitor and react to what may
occur while the Treo is in its holster (incoming calls, alarms, etc.).
If there is some particular place I should be able to find this info,
someone please point me there. The most aggravating thing is when I pull
the 680 from its holster, then have to wait a seemingly interminable
time for it to decide it wants to do as I wish.
